E&M in action
New cabin interior configuration for KLM’s B777-200s and 300s
As most colleagues know, we’ve been working for some time at E&M on installing the Premium Comfort Class on board. Reconfiguration started on the B787 and the entire B787 fleet has now been fitted with Premium Comfort. Following completion of the B787 conversion, the focus has now shifted to the B777 fleet. Besides fitting Premium Comfort, the World Business Class seats will also be replaced on the B777.
Modified line-up The current B777 2-2-2 line-up will be replaced by JAMCO Venture seats in a 1-2-1 line-up, giving every passenger direct aisle access. The JAMCO Venture seats are a further development of the already existing seats in the B787-10. The main difference compared with the previous seats is the new privacy door, allowing passengers to close the opening to the aisle, creating a mini-suite. A wireless charging port and door to the business panel have been added, closing the area next to the passenger where personal items can be stored during the flight.
To date, the PH-BVA & PH-BVB have been reconfigured and the PH-BVC is currently in the Hangar for modification. The first B777-200 will take off and be certified in January 2024.
