Dear colleagues, Over the past few weeks, we've had the pleasure of receiving a number of high-level visitors. A fortnight ago, several Members of the European Parliament visited for tours of Hangar 14 and Engine Services (ES). The Minister of Economic Affairs also visited ES, together with Marjan Rintel. During these visits, we were able to tell them a lot about all the innovations and investments we are working on, as well as how our business operates. The visits were marked by great interest and positive interactions. Today we welcomed IndiGo's executive board to E&M, including Pieter Elbers, IndiGo's current CEO and former KLM CEO. Presentations and tours were given at Airframe and Engine Services, and we also visited EPCOR. We had some great conversations. In addition, some good news, after almost five months' absence from KLM operations, KLM's B787-9, with registration PH-BHE, made its return to the route network on Friday 29th November 2024. This return to the operational fleet follows an extensive inspection and complex repair by the Boeing Team due to damage to the tail sustained during turbulence over the Andes. Colleague Jorgen Hoogendoorn, AOG Manager PH-BHE, talks more about this in this E&M Scope. On Saturday 30th November, the E&M Job Fair took place in Building 133. This event was specially designed to attract and enthuse outside technical staff for a career at KLM E&M. More than 200 visitors had the chance to meet various departments through various stands. Thanks to all our colleagues and E&M Ambassadors who were present and made it a success! As of 2nd December 2024, the Safety Management System (SMS) is a requirement for E&M. In a previous E&M Scope, we discussed how we recognise and acknowledge safety culture. An important part of this is recognising (potential) hazards. Everyone within E&M must be able to explain their own hazard in SMS if asked by auditors. In the E&M Scope you can read more about how to identify these hazards and how best to approach them. In early October, we announced 'Back on Track', the programme that will ensure KLM can improve its operational and financial performance in the short term. It's an improvement programme with far-reaching measures that must be taken up by our entire company because KLM's future depends on it. These measures are detailed in the improvement programme ‘Back on Track’. From 2025, all ongoing initiatives from ‘Funding our Journey’ will become part of the ‘Back on Track’ improvement programme. These initiatives will continue unabated. ‘Funding our Journey’ in 2024 confirmed E&M's ability to deliver results when we prioritise and focus. As part of ‘Back on Track’, additional focus will be placed on improving productivity, reducing absenteeism and bringing indirect staff to desired levels. We will closely monitor these additional measures, which will help E&M meet its budget ambition in 2025. The past few months have not been easy, but we have made great strides in getting the operation back on track. Let us face this last month of the year with the same determination and finish strong together. Together, we are making a difference: We are E&M! Kind regards,
