Technical talent flows in at successful KLM E&M Job Fair

On Saturday 30 November, the very first edition of the KLM E&M Job Fair was organized by the Sourcing team in collaboration with E&M Recruitment. This accessible and inspiring event offered technical talent the unique opportunity to discover what a career at KLM E&M entails. And what a success it was!

Massive turnout and enthusiasm The inaugural edition of the KLM E&M Job Fair exceeded all expectations. More than 200 interested visitors found their way to the event, curious about the opportunities KLM offers as a technical employer. At the booths of various departments—such as electrical, mechanical, aircraft engineering, logistics, and engineering & IT—visitors engaged in conversations with colleagues, ambassadors, hiring managers, and recruiters. With passion and enthusiasm, they shared insights about their work and explained what makes working on aircraft in 'the largest garage in the Netherlands' so special. The impact of their work on aviation was clearly visible.

Workshops and unique experiences Visitors not only had the chance to gather information but could also participate in various workshops. Under supervision, they could assemble model airplanes and take a glimpse into the future of aviation technology using VR headsets. Additionally, they had the unique opportunity to view an aircraft engine up close, which was an unforgettable experience for many. Why an E&M Job Fair? Technicians are indispensable to KLM. To continue our operations now and in the future, we need new technical talent. This event was designed to show people how versatile and challenging a technical role at KLM can be. With initiatives like this, we are working towards our ambition to hire around 200 to 250 new technicians by 2025. This first edition of the Job Fair has demonstrated how important it is to excite and inspire people to choose us. Results so far and future plans The success of the KLM Engineering Job Fair is clearly visible in the results: 22 applications have already been received, three job shadowing days have been scheduled, and many resumes have been submitted. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this day! Your enthusiasm and dedication have allowed us to reach a lot of talent. Given the success of this first edition, we are considering organizing this event throughout the year next year. We look forward to welcoming and inspiring even more technical talent!
