Check-in with... Andrea Dewit Pertegás

Andrea, can you introduce yourself? ‘I’m Andrea Dewit Pertegás, 22 years old and currently a third-year Communication student at Hogeschool Leiden. I live with 18 girls in a student house in the centre of Leiden. It's incredible fun living with such a large group of girls, there is always something new to enjoy."

What exactly are you doing at KLM E&M? 'For the next six months, I'm doing an internship at communication E&M five days a week in which I support the implementation of E&M-wide communication. This includes helping to create, publish and send content that is distributed E&M-wide through various communication channels. I hope to apply my knowledge from the past three years in practice and be a valuable addition to the team.’

Why did you choose to do an internship at KLM? ‘The aircraft industry has always interested me. Since childhood, I've travelled with KLM a lot as my family lives scattered all over Europe. As a passenger, I know all there is to know about airplanes, but the technical aspects are uncharted territory for me. I’m very curious and eager to see how this internship will unfold. I love challenges and new adventures, and I hope to experience plenty of that during my internship.’

How do you like to spend your time when you’re not at KLM E&M? ‘Besides my studies, I love travelling, shopping and enjoy being creative. Of course, as a student, I also like socialising and regularly go out on the town with girlfriends.’
