Dear colleagues, On 1 October, the new basic privacy training was rolled out, a mandatory e-learning that plays a crucial role in enhancing privacy awareness within KLM. Protecting personal data is essential, as KLM processes large amounts of data from customers, third parties, and employees. This training helps us comply with European privacy legislation (GDPR) by informing and training employees. The training, which lasts 30 minutes, includes text, video, practical examples, exercises, and test questions. All KLM employees, including contractors, must complete the training by 1 December 2024, at the latest. The e-learning AFKL Competition Law must also be completed by the necessary colleagues before 2 December 2024. If you have not done so yet, we urgently request that you complete this training/these trainings this month. Dominik Wiener-Silva has decided to step down at the end of January 2025 for personal reasons, after two years as Vice President Component Services at KLM E&M. I am confident that the operational and financial recovery programs initiated by Dominik within Component Services, together with his dedicated team, will continue to support KLM operations, serve our global customers, and thereby contribute to the financial performance of KLM and AFKL. For Dominik, this decision was not easy, especially given the operational and financial challenges currently facing Component Services. Over the next three months, he will fully commit to ensuring a smooth transition. Dominik will continue his career outside of KLM. Together with Mathieu Essenberg, I will work over the coming period to find a suitable successor. I would like to thank Dominik for his continued commitment, his valuable contributions over the past period to KLM E&M and AFI KLM E&M, and wish him success in his next career step. Last Thursday, the AFKL figures for Q3 2024 were presented in Paris. In the third quarter of 2024, KLM achieved a lower operating profit than the same quarter last year: €396 million on a revenue of €3.5 billion. For the first nine months of 2024, the operating profit is €303 million less than in 2023. High costs of equipment, personnel, and airport fees are causing the results to lag. The figures thus underscore the necessity of the previously announced financial and operational measures with the improvement program Back on Track. Read more about the KLM E&M Q3 Quarterly Figures further in the E&M Scope. Many colleagues within all units and at all levels have worked and contributed to a structural implementation of this Back on Track improvement program, which is crucial for the future of KLM E&M as an airline MRO. We have worked intensively with a consultancy firm to explore and secure more possibilities (outside-in approach). A joint plan is now on the table with the KLM Management Board. Although we are still waiting for formal approval, we have already started with the initial steps of this improvement program. In the coming period, we will keep you regularly informed about the progress and the steps being taken within KLM E&M across five different components.

Thank you for your efforts. Let’s continue together on the path to operational improvement and carry this last period of 2024 forward with the same determination and dedication. Kind regards,
