E&M in action

Sustainable transport policy live from 1 november

From 1 November, the more sustainably you travel, the higher the transport allowance you will receive. You can also use public transport for free when using KLM's NS-Business Card for your commute or duty travel. For this, it is important that from now on you register your commuting trips.

Registering your commuting trips In the new registration system, the kilometres travelled for commuting and duty travel in the Netherlands must be registered. You can indicate how you travelled each day and receive the corresponding allowance. All KLM employees covered by the KLM/KLC ground and cabin collective labour agreements must now start registering their journeys to receive the allowance. Colleagues who fall under the cockpit collective labour agreement do not receive a travel allowance and do not have to register their commutes. If you don't register your journeys, you won't receive any transport allowance. Click here to go to the transport registration system on MyKLM.

Registration of working from home From 1st November, you can also register home working days in the new transport registration system. Information on how to do this can be found on the Transport page on MyKLM, the page also contains instruction videos.

How often do you need to register? There’s no need to register every day if it’s inconvenient. Instead, you can choose to log your journeys just once a month to receive your transport allowance with your monthly salary. You can record your journeys and home working days up to three months retroactively, with reimbursement included in the month following your registration. All information and explanations about registration can be found on the special transport registration page on MyKLM.

Travel to work for free with the NS-Business Card If you travel to work by public transport, KLM will reimburse the cost of second-class travel, regardless of the number of kilometres travelled. For domestic duty travel, you can enjoy 100% free first-class public transport with an NS-Business Card. This card is integrated with the new transport registration system, so all public transport usage is automatically logged, removing the need to manually register your public transport commute. If you are covered under the Ground CAO, you also have the option to register public transport trips separately, allowing you to receive a reimbursement of €0.19 per kilometre, up to a maximum of 50 kilometres per one-way journey.

Important The registration system requires you to log in to MyKLM. Therefore, make sure you have installed PingID and know how it works. If you've applied for an NS-Business Card, it will have been sent to your home address (known to KLM). If you want to check which address is known to KLM, check MyKLM (Success Factors). This address also serves as the start/end point in the transport registration system. Please note: address changes cannot be passed on retroactively.

Information and Questions You can find all information, including instruction videos, on the special Transport page on MyKLM. If you have a question that is not answered in one of the Q&As, please contact vervoersregistratie@klm.com.
