KLM UK Engineering welcomes new apprenticeship cohort amid record demand
KLM UK Engineering has welcomed a new cohort of apprentices, representing the future of aircraft maintenance at their base maintenance facilities in Norwich. As one of the leading apprenticeship providers in the region, they have been at the forefront of aviation training for 40 years.
Interest in KLM UK Engineering’s apprenticeship program is at an all-time high, seeing an incredible 300 applications for just 15 exclusive positions. This latest cohort is yet another chapter in their long history of excellence in training, as they continue to set the benchmark for aviation apprenticeships from their first-of-its-kind Emulation Zone at the International Aviation Academy Norwich.
These new apprentices will embark on a structured, hands-on 3-year program that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. Under the guidance of seasoned engineers, they will gain invaluable industry experience that will support both their individual growth and the broader aviation industry.
The program's excellent reputation has drawn national recognition, with praise from the UK Government, including Aviation Minister Baroness Vere, who recently commended their commitment to developing the next generation of engineers.
Claire Oliff, Head of Technical College at KLM UK Engineering, comments: “Our apprentices are an integral part of our team, bringing fresh ideas and energy to our organisation. It’s an honour to contribute to the career development of these new engineers, and we are immensely proud of our role in shaping the future of aviation.”
