E&M in action

Working together to improve component availability for KLM

Airframe is actively working to streamline processes, ensuring that maintenance checks are completed on time more consistently, while also reducing the number of unresolved complaints (Deferred Defects).

During the initial phase of the improvement plan, it was identified that missing materials and components were significant contributors to delays and Deferred Defects. In response, a new workstream was launched in September, where Airframe collaborates closely with Component Services and Fleet Services to enhance component availability for KLM. This is the Component Availability programme, which is part of the Airframe Operational Improvement Plan and falls under Component Services' Operation On Order (O3) programme. In this workstream, colleagues are focusing on various initiatives aimed at improving component availability, enhancing collaboration, and enabling Airframe to complete maintenance checks on time while reducing Deferred Defects. Additionally, performance will be more clearly defined and measured. In the video below, Huub Schotmans, VP Fleet Services, and Bart Vromans, Director Contract & Asset Management talk about Fleet Services' role as a CAMO organisation, its relationship with E&M, and the added value of Component Availability. In the video alongside, workflow lead Danique takes you through the implementation of Component Availability together with several initiative owners.
