KLM E&M’s Sourcing successes: from Techniek XXL to onboarding
At KLM E&M, it is not just about attracting new employees, but also about retaining talent. During the E&M Information Sessions in June, Francien Dees (HR Director) and Stefanie Boers (Sourcing Project Manager) looked back at our performance in 2023 and took a look into the future in the field of Sourcing. Now, a few months later, it’s time for an update. Where are we and what have we achieved?
Techniek XXL: a successful campaign At the end of June we launched the Techniek XXL campaign, which reached a wide audience through Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, digital media, radio and bus shelters. This campaign is still visible on social media. Did you see it already? Please take a look at the video. The goal was to attract technical talent and it looks like we succeeded. We have already achieved over 105,000 views with our XXL landing page, and more than 10,000 people have ultimately viewed our job vacancies.

Referral programme: Earn €1,000! It is again possible to share vacancies with acquaintances through our career site. Think of a fellow student, former colleague or supplier who once helped you tremendously. Once this person finishes the trial period, you will receive a bonus of €1,000. A win-win situation for everyone. This year, 34 colleagues have already submitted a referral.

Welcome interns! In addition to many new colleagues, we also welcomed many interns this year. At the beginning of September, no fewer than 80 new interns started at KLM E&M, many of whom we hope will stay as future KLM colleagues. And we’re not stopping: the first Internship Market is already on the agenda on 21 November, during the Innovation Fair. Onboarding: A warm welcome A good start is half the battle. That’s why we have taken many steps to boost the welcome for new colleagues. We have developed a new version of Onboarding Day and have already organised eight interactive onboarding days, with six more scheduled this year. Since the creation of the new central onboarding team, 380 employees have already been welcomed by telephone and email and 380 new employees have received a welcome package. We look forward to what the rest of the year will bring and remain committed to providing the best working environment for all our employees.
