Age, Henk and Willem – KLM employees for 50 years

Last month, Age, Henk and Willem celebrated their 50th anniversary at KLM, a remarkable milestone that only a few achieve! All three colleagues have dedicated their entire careers to aviation.

Age started at the age of 15, straight from school. Willem followed at the age of 16, working shifts at KLM E&M. ‘We started in the same class, of course’, Age says with a smile. They have experienced countless developments in aviation over the years, but their passion has always remained unchanged. What is the secret of such a long career? Both men agree: ‘Colleagues and a fun atmosphere!’ With a wink, Age adds: ‘And a little bit of a disregard for what they want from you.’ Willem nods in agreement: ‘We were a bit rebellious too.’ At KLM E&M it is really a matter of give and take. ‘You support each other, and that makes the work so enjoyable’, says Age. ‘If you help each other, you always get something in return.’ Willem adds: ‘That collegiality is what makes working at KLM E&M so special.’ With their rich experiences and unwavering friendship, Age and Willem are a wonderful example of the spirit of KLM E&M.
