New interns

We are excited to announce that we have welcomed new interns to LMI since the start of February.

We would like to introduce them to you.

Hi everyone!

My name is Birgit van Geuns, I am 21 years old and I will be interning for the next five months at E&M Line Maintenance International.

I was born in Breda, I now live in Leiden and study communication at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

The reason why I wanted to do an internship at KLM is because secretly my biggest dream is to become a flight attendant.

During my internship, I will mainly focus on making sure communication between various processes runs as efficiently as possible, always prioritizing the employees.

I am really looking forward to this new chapter and hope to meet all of you soon!

My name is Simeon Stoyanov, I'm 23 years old, from Bulgaria, student at Hogeschool Inholland Delft, studying Aeronautical Engineering and my minor is Aircraft Gas Turbines. I'm currently living in Den Haag for almost 4 years now, despite studying in Delft. About hobbies of mine, I love hiking, even though its not practical in the Netherlands, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, traveling, exploring, basically activities which are common for our generation.

Regarding my purpose in KLM, I'm currently doing my graduation internship at LMI, and the assignment is 'Tool Management', optimization of tool control and the Stationlog system while the aircraft is on the line, or in short to track every moment who has a certain tool and where do they use it.

My name is Wasan Alkhayyat, and I am a 41-year-old married mother of two wonderful children, a 12-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl.

Currently, I am in my final year of the four-year Mathematical Engineering program at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (HHS) in Delft.

I am now eager to complete my graduation internship at KLM, where my project focuses on estimating dynamic flight patterns and using these estimations to determine the required number of manpower(MP) at maintenance stations.

Outside of work and studies, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, walking, cooking, and traveling.

As I look to the future, I am excited to continue growing both personally and professionally, contributing my skills to innovative projects while cherishing the joys of motherhood and family life.

I’m Şükrü, a 21 year old from Turkey with a strong passion for driving cars in my free time.

I recently joined KLM E&M within Line Maintenance International as a graduation intern from AUAS, where I am researching how smart technologies can be integrated into preflight inspections to enhance efficiency and support future digitalization.

By identifying and evaluating these solutions, I aim to contribute to the development of a more structured and technology-driven inspection process.

I look forward to sharing insights that can help shape the future of preflight inspections and make a real impact on operational efficiency.

My name is Kelly Spencer, and I come from South Africa. Yes, I know your next question: "Do you speak Afrikaans?"

I study User Experience Design at De Haagse Hogeschool and am currently doing my graduation internship. The project I will be researching and designing is a Customer Portal. My aim is to make it digital, efficient, and provide a great user experience for both customers and KLM.

My goal for this internship is to meet as many people as possible, learn new things, provide a friendly smile in the office, and improve the user experience. I look forward to working with you.

I can't wait to learn from you and teach you more about user experience!
